Plastic continues to be the most popular tube material and given the ongoing focus on environmental concerns in each facet of the packaging industry, the tube sector continues to find new ways to add layers of eco-responsibility to its products and manufacturing protocols.
In April, Berry Global Group, Inc., Evansville, IN, announced Impact 2025, a sustainability strategy tasked with minimizing and optimizing product impact with 100% of packaging designed with sustainably sourced materials that are reusable, recyclable or compostable. From a performance perspective, the company has committed to reducing its greenhouse gas emissions 25% by 2025, landfill waste by 5% and energy/water consumption by 1% per year.
