The Body Shop UK has announced more of its restructuring plans. Over the next few weeks, 75 shops will be shut down and about 489 jobs will be cut.
According to the BBC, the FRP Advisory will close stores over the next four to six weeks. Despite these cuts, FRP also claimed it would support staff through the Redundancy Payments Service—a government-supported program funded by national insurance contributions.
Through FRP’s analysis, it found between 750 and 800 people will be made redundant with the cost-cutting plans at The Body Shop’s head office.
FRP Advisory’s Tony Wright commented: “In taking swift action to right-size The Body Shop UK store portfolio, we have stabilized the business. We remain fully focused on exploring all options to take the business forward.”
