    Biossance to Launch in Sephora

    Meets consumer demand for sustainable skin care products

    As ingredient transparency and consumer demand grow in the direction of sustainable products for skin care, Amyris, Inc., has announced that Biossance, its consumer beauty brand, will launch in Sephora’s retail stores early next year. The brand’s extensive line of high-performance skin care products will begin a rollout to participating stores in February 2017, simultaneously launching on Sephora online. Also in the plan: additional in-store and online marketing activities with Sephora to highlight the Biossance brand.
     
    Caroline Hadfield, senior vice president, Personal Care, at Amyris, says: “We are excited to launch with Sephora in the coming months and look forward to a strong partnership with them in the years to come. We expect this partnership combined with our strong growth will more than double our revenue in 2017.” Hadfield added: “Amyris and Sephora share similar philosophies when it comes to innovation, sustainability, and responsibility while providing efficacious products and we are delighted by their support of our brand.”
     
    According to the brand, Biossance “uses innovative biotechnology to create skin care products that are incredibly effective, sustainable and safe. In its Berkeley-born labs 100% plant-based squalane was created sustainably from sugarcane. Biossance formulates with a No Compromise approach, proudly blacklisting over 2,000 ingredients that are potentially harmful to you or the planet.”
