The Estée Lauder Companies (ELC) has made changes within their supply chain leadership, with Roberto Canevari joining the company to succeed Gregory Polcer, as executive vice president, global supply chain. After almost 13 years with ELC, Polcer announced his retirement, effective July 1, 2021. Polcer will work closely with Canevari to support the transition.
Canevari will assume the role of executive vice president, global supply chain, effective May 1, 2021. Reporting to Fabrizio Freda, president and chief executive officer, he will oversee the company’s global supply chain operations, including end-to-end procurement, manufacturing, planning, quality assurance and logistics for ELC’s diverse brand portfolio across all channels and geographies.
Additionally, building on the company’s long-term relationships with global suppliers, Canevari’s focus will include “strengthening and strategically evolving partnership models, prioritizing safety, sustainability, and responsible sourcing.”
Canevari has held supply chain leadership roles across a variety of industries. He most recently served as Unilever PLC’s executive vice president of supply chain, Europe, where he oversaw end-to-end supply chain operations for the company’s European business. Prior to this, he was chief supply chain officer at Burberry Group PLC for nearly seven years.
Also, at ELC, Dave Smith was appointed senior vice president, New Business Development, and will report to Andrew Ross, executive vice president, Strategy, New Business Development (NBD) and Integration. Smith is a highly experienced mergers and acquisitions and strategic investments professional with a proven record of successfully driving all phases of the M&A process. He joins ELC from Corning Incorporated, and previously, eBay, Inc.
Shana Randhava, who previously oversaw NBD, takes on a new role leading New Incubation Ventures, a new capability for the company. She will report to Ross in her new leadership role.
