Raquel Melgarejo: We were born with the idea to be not only a supplier for our customers but to become their partners. Our process of developing is to always approach with a very positive and proactive methodology: following trends and the market, getting inspired by new brands and, most importantly, accurately studying innovative raw materials, new concepts and applications. We imagine and dream the final effect and we race to get it.
BP: In what ways has your company evolved since its creation in 2011?
RM: We were born in 2011, but the first development was in 2013. Our company has grown fast and it continues to grow really quickly. We have made new investments in technologies and also in qualified resources; our goal is to understand what the market requires and follow it, we want to keep pace with the times.
BP: Do you have any specific areas of specialty in the beauty segment?
RM: We feel more comfortable in lip and eye makeup products. Our philosophy is to think makeup and create it so anything that the customer can think about we can turn it into reality. All our products promise the consumer a high level of makeup quality with a hint of care; we care about your lips but with the most amazing colors and textures.
BP: Tell us about your certifications and your commitments to environmental responsibility, both in your manufacturing protocols and your formulating ingredients.
RM: We are GMP and ISO certified and in the last three years we’ve developed our Ecocert and CCPB lines which are constantly growing. We got the GMP certification in the first years of activity, demonstrating how from the very beginning it was important for us to guarantee to our customer the best quality of the production processes, thus also ensuring a high-quality product.
The always growing attention to the environment and the constant search for waste reduction, made it necessary to develop two lines with two separate certifications: Ecocert and CCPB, with high-quality products, certified raw materials, but a low environmental impact. These lines are always in progress thanks also to the new technologies appearing on the market.
BP: Please tell us about iTiT’s latest developments.
RM: We presented a newly developed formulation in New York last September: a plumping liquid blush, an innovative concept with ingredients and active raw materials that give an amazing final effect on cheeks.
Following trends and market demands, we constantly develop new formulations for eyes and lips that we usually debut to customers at shows. Our next showing will be in Los Angeles and at Cosmoprof in March. We are also attending a show in Shanghai at the Greenland Commodity Hub/Italian Pavilion this November, where we will have a pop-up showroom that will be open for one year. For lips, eyes or face, our aim is always to give our customers a way to dream their own makeup.
