Citing a new management structure geared toward ensuring growth, Shiseido Co. Ltd. has announced a new president. The company named Masahiko Uotani its new president and CEO, as of April 1. He will replace Shinzo Maeda in the role.
Uotani currently serves as Shiseido’s chief executive partner (representative director) of BrandVision Inc. and outside chief marketing advisor of the company.
Maeda will become Shiseido’s chairman (representative director) on April 1, and will then retire from that role to become senior advisor of the company at the end of June. Maeda had taken the position last April on an interim basis when Hisayuki Suekawa stepped down due to health reasons.
