Brand Finance has released its Annual Cosmetics 50 2024 report, outlining the most valuable and strongest cosmetic brands.
L’Oréal topped the most valuable cosmetics brand list again this year and earned the highest Sustainability Perceptions Value (SPV). Garnier saw the biggest value growth, up 15%, and Natura was named the world’s strongest cosmetics brand this year.
Annie Brown, General Manager at Brand Finance, said,
“As the cosmetics industry evolves, these brands exemplify the dynamic shifts and strategic innovations driving growth and consumer engagement in the sector. The relentless pursuit of excellence by these leaders not only shapes the contours of the global beauty landscape but also sets new benchmarks for success and sustainability in the industry.”
L’Oréal earned the highest SPV due to its “L’Oréal for the Future” campaign, tackling social and environmental challenges around the world since its inception in 2020. In 2023, the company launched a new Climate Change Emergency Fund to help vulnerable communities build resilience against climate change-driven disasters. Additionally, L’Oréal expanded its environmental efforts through its Fund for Nature Regeneration, focused on innovative solutions for carbon capture, reforestation, and ecosystem restoration.
L'Oréal-owned brand, Garnier, was named the world’s fastest-growing brand with its brand value up 15%. The brand’s Vitamin C Brightening Serum helped drive brand success in the skincare market.
Despite a slight dip in brand value, Natura claimed its spot as the world’s strongest cosmetics brand. The brand’s reputation remains strong with high scores in familiarity, consideration, and recommendation.
