Did you know that Black women are powerful contributors to the beauty industry, accounting for trillions in consumer spending, yet Black founders receive less than a percent of venture funding for their businesses?
The Startup Collective by Aveeno, a Johnson & Johnson brand, aims to change this trend by fostering business growth for Black female-identifying entrepreneurs to help cultivate a transformative and inclusive beauty industry.
The Startup Collective by Aveeno, which is designed to empower Black female-identifying business owners with a chance to win a $100,000 grant with access to hands-on business guidance and mentorship from Aveeno leader, is now accepting submissions.
Applications for The Startup Collective by Aveeno contest may be submitted starting June 15, 2023, at 12:00 AM EDT. The deadline for entries is August 13, 2023, at 11:59 PM EDT.
Black female-identifying entrepreneurs can submit their application here. Finalists will attend a virtual pitch competition to present their company and product.
The winner and runner-up will be announced on the first weekend of October at CultureCon NYC, which will be taking place in the Duggal Greenhouse located in Brooklyn.
