The Fragrance Foundation (TFF) presented its 2021 Awards yesterday during an entertaining virtual event. (View the replay on TFF's website.)

Linda Levy, president, TFF, opened the event by welcoming a special guest— Louie Schwartzberg.

Schwartzberg, acclaimed filmmaker and master of time-lapse photography, is TFF’s new Creative Collaborator.  Attendees watched a video excerpt by Oprah Winfrey, featuring Schwartzberg and his incredible work.

“We’re hard-wired to protect what we love—and I want people to fall in love with nature in order to protect it,” Schwartzberg tells Winfrey.

Next, Schwartzberg joined the live event from Los Angeles. Levy asked him about the connection between scent and his innovative approach to photographing nature.

“The flowers and imagery do the same thing—they grab your attention, slow you down…’slow down and smell the roses—and pause for a moment…see the flower open and close—it does make you slow down,” Schwartzberg said.

Celebrity Presenters, Media Campaign & Editorial Awards

Celebrity presenters included Dolly Parton, Alicia Keys, Christian Siriano, Isabella Rossellini, Kylie Minogue, and Andre Leon Talley.

Philippe Benacin, president and CEO, Interparfums, is this year’s Hall of Fame Honoree.

Calice Becker, vp perfumer and director of the Givaudan Perfumery School, received the Lifetime Achievement Perfumer Award.

The Media Campaign of the Year Award went to Perfect Marc Jacobs and ck Calvin Klein.

The Editorial of the Year Award winner, Print, is Town & Country Magazine’s “It Smells Good in Here” by April Long; and the Digital winner is Town & Country Magazine’s “How Signature is Your Signature Scent? Why Now is the Perfect Time To Craft a Custom Perfume."
