It's official - the John Barrett Salon has just signed on to be the official in-store salon and spa partner for Saks Fifth Avenue stores in the U.S. and Canada, and will open 15 new John Barrett salons by the end of 2017.
There are plenty of changes in store for John Barrett's salon clients. The company stated it plans to "reinvent the luxury salon experience" to become the new standard of luxury. New infrastructure, equipment and technology is in the works for each salon location, to create a new concept that includes new service menus, spa treatment protocols, luxury retail offerings and a new John Barrett 'fast-beauty' concept.
In addition to building new salons, the John Barrett team will begin renovating the retailers' existing salon locations this month. Tricarico Architecture and Design will lead the renovations. All new locations will be run by staff personally chosen and trained by John Barrett himself. Currently, the Salon & Spa at Saks NYC flagship location is operated by Halcyon Days Salons & Spas.
Jim Hedges, CEO John Barrett Holdings, explained, "John Barrett has found a partner in Saks Fifth Avenue that shares our larger vision to connect with the client seamlessly inside and outside the walls of the salon, at the beauty level and throughout the client's journey in the store. Through our partnership with Saks we can animate the beauty experience and create opportunities for sharing our collective expertise, education and other engagements throughout the entire store, as well as its beauty environments."
Marc Metrick, president, Saks Fifth Avenue, said, "John Barrett is one of the best names in hair and beauty and we're delighted to partner with them...We know John Barrett's offering will be yet one more reason for our customers to shop at Saks."
The John Barrett strategic rollout will include the following Saks Fifth Avenue locations: Fifth Avenue Flagship, New York City; Bala Cynwyd, Pennsylvania; Bal Harbour, Florida; Boca Raton, Florida; Chevy Chase, Maryland; McLean, Virginia; Huntington Station, New York; San Antonio, Texas; St. Louis, Missouri; and Troy, Michigan.
The new salons will open at these Saks Fifth Avenue locations: Houston, Texas; Las Vegas, Nevada; Miami, Florida – Brickell City Center; Toronto, Canada – Sherway Gardens; and Toronto, Canada – Eaton Center.
