Petal & Post, with the tagline, Live Naturally, is a new e-commerce site that sells beauty, wellness, home, pet and baby products. The site's mission is to "bring together an authentic collection of the world’s finest organic, natural, small-batch and ethically crafted products. Our hand-selected and tested brands are each created using only the highest grades of ethically sourced natural and organic ingredients or sustainable materials."
Petal & Posts's founder is Jamie MacLean, who has 18 years experience in the retail industry. She created Petal & Post, with the help of her husband, to merge the "luxury and organic." The brands she chooses to partner with must meet her criteria - they must: "excel in their genre, they must be ethically produced, they must deliver outstanding results, and they must be certified organic or use truly natural ingredients."
MacLean explains, "The store was designed to be a source for luxury eco products that are truly authentic in a time where greenwashing has peaked and consumers are left uneasy and discouraged." states Jamie MacLean, President & Founder of Petal & Post. "I am deeply disappointed and frustrated by companies in the 'natural' personal care space who continue to trick consumers through misleading packaging, branding and label call-outs on products that are not natural in formulation, let alone organic."
The niche brands the site has partnered with include Kahina Giving Beauty, a brand from NYC that gives back to argan oil suppliers in Morocco; Province Apothecary, a holistic unisex skincare line founded in CA; Apple & Bears organic bath & body line from the UK; and Lily Lolo mineral cosmetics, also from the UK.
Petal & Post won't sell any products formulated with the usual list of controversial ingredients, including: Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS), Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES), parabens, propylene, or butylene glycols, petroleum, PEGs, TEA, DEA, phthalates, GMO, silicones, pesticides, BPA, lead, artificial dyes, harmful synthetic fragrances or animal by-products. They also state: "None of the brands we stock test their products on animals, nor do they instruct anyone to do so on their behalf."
