The Ethisphere Institute, an independent center of research promoting best practices in corporate ethics and compliance, announced its annual “World’s Most Ethical Companies” List today.
The list features the companies that are going beyond making statements about doing business ethically – and translating those words into action.
Several cosmetics and personal care companies are being honored with this award and distinction.
L'Oreal has made the list for the fifth time.
Jean-Paul Agon, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of L'Oreal, commented:
"This good news coincides with the launch of our ambitious "Sharing Beauty with All" commitments regarding sustainable innovation, production and consumption "Respecting high ethical standards and serving the common good will not only make a real difference in the 21st century but will also, through the resulting transformations, have a positive impact on our company's profitability."
Another company that made the list is the Kimberly-Clark Corporation, which is being honored for the third consecutive year. The company recieved multiple distinctions for its sustainability and citizenship practices.
Tom Falk, chairman and CEO of Kimberly-Clark, said:
"Building a culture of integrity is a continuing journey, measured by our actions every day. We always strive to reach that goal and continue to improve. This recognition from Ethisphere acknowledges the priority we place on accountability. I'm proud of our K-C teams around the world, and know they will continue to work hard to live up to the expectations of this award in the years ahead."
Other cosmetic companies on the list are: Henkel AG & Co. (Germany) Kao Corporation (Japan), Shiseido (Japan) and Natura Cosmetics (Brazil).
