Global beauty company L’Oréal has issued a statement strongly condemning the invasion and war in Ukraine, “which is causing so much suffering to the Ukrainian people.” Other beauty companies are supporting Ukraine as well.
Employees in Ukraine
The company expressed special concern for the safety of its 326 Ukrainian employees, their families and the people of Ukraine whose lives have been changed so dramatically in the last eight days. Although the group says some have managed to cross the border, the majority of its employees remain in the country in increasingly harsh circumstances. For its employees who remain in Ukraine L’Oréal is providing financial assistance and psychological support. Its local teams in neighboring countries are personally welcoming those employees who have crossed the border, and L’Oréal is providing them and their families with accommodation, access to private medical care, psychological support, financial assistance and legal advice.
Throughout our organization the company has launched an employee volunteer program, which is particularly active in neighboring countries, where its employees can dedicate part of their time towards humanitarian support for Ukraine.
