Google has released its annual Year in Search data, showing the Top Trending Searches in the U.S. and the world—after looking back at the trillions of searches that defined the past year.
Google Trends data reveals valuable insights for beauty marketers about about consumers. It reveals the questions we shared, the people who inspired us, and the moments that captured the world's attention.
How does Google define a 'trending search'?
The “trending” queries are not necessarily the top seaches in each category—they are the searches that had a high spike in traffic over a sustained period in 2021 as compared to 2020, Google explains.Take a look below to see what's trending in hair, skincare and more.

'Wolf Cut' Hair Styles, Skincare Ingredients, & Hand Soap

What's a wolf cut?
In Style says it's a trendy take on the shag. Glamour calls it a mash-up of a shag and mullet.Niacinamide is a Top Trending Search in Skincare
As for skincare, the top trending search is "What skincare products do not mix?"Ranking at number two is, "What does niacinamde do?" The spelling should be "Niacinamide," of course, as in Glow Recipe's Watermelon Glow Niacinamide Dew Drops, also shown above.

Consumers Want Sustainable Hand Soap & Razors
