K-Beauty retailer Olive Young has opened its first brick-and-mortar store in the U.S., putting down roots in Pasadena, California. The retailer also launched a new website, exclusively for American online shoppers.

The opening marks a significant milestone in the brand’s global expansion, the company says. “Our U.S. debut marks an important step in bringing a more personalized and seamless beauty discovery experience to American consumers, grounded in our strengths in curation, innovation, and customer experience,” says Gaeun Kwon, CEO of Olive Young USA.

Kwon adds, “We aim to create a space where customers can discover what works best for them — both in-store and online.”

400+ Beauty Brands are Available

At launch in the U.S., Olive Young will offer approximately 400 brands and 5,000 SKUs. The product assortment, both in-store and online, includes skincare, makeup, hair care, wellness, and “inner beauty”.

The retailer will showcase leading K-beauty brands, including Anua, Biodance, fwee, MEDIHEAL, Mise-en-scène, rom&nd, Torriden, and Unove. “Inner beauty” brands include FOODOLOGY and InnerB.

Global brands will also be available, including CeraVe, Hero, Kiehl’s, Lancôme, La Roche-Posay, Sol de Janeiro, Supergoop!, The Ordinary, Touchland, and Urban Decay.

“Olive Young is not only a destination for K-beauty, but a discovery platform that brings together diverse beauty, wellness, and lifestyle brands from Korea and beyond,” explains Kwon. “Our goal is to help customers continuously discover something new — from emerging trends and innovative products to routines and brands that fit their individual lifestyles.”

More Details About Olive Young’s New Store

Located at 58 W Colorado Blvd, the new Pasadena store is 8,647 sq. ft.  Immersive in-store experiences will be designed to make beauty discovery more interactive, personalized, and accessible.

The store is designed and curated to reflect “the fast-moving beauty culture and retail energy of Seoul,” the retailer states.

A Unique Sampling Experience

K-Beauty Retailer Olive Young will offer shoppers at its new Pasadena store a unique sampling experience. Called “O.Y. Treats,” the retailer-led sampling program gives away high-value samples at multiple points along the beauty consumer’s path-to-purchase.

A statement says: “Unlike traditional sampling models, this program enables customers to discover products at multiple touchpoints in-store. Sample kits will also be available for new member sign-ups, along with additional in-store benefits.”

A Connected Shopping Experience

Launching Olive Young’s new website for U.S. shoppers simultaneously with the new Pasadena store is a smart move.

“By connecting our physical store and digital platform, we hope to make beauty discovery more accessible, relevant, and inspiring for American consumers,” says Kwon.
