Violette_FR has raised $5 million from existing backers and investors.

This comes at a challenging time for the cosmetics industry as beauty giants are looking to divest in beauty brands.

A filing with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission indicates the full offering was sold to three investors.

Those listed in the filing include Anu Duggal, founding partner at Female Founders Fund; Oliver Nordlinger, co-founder and partner at Monogram Capital Partners; Brian Thorne, partner at Silas Capital; and David Olsen, managing director at Highlander Partners and CEO of RMS Beauty.

This year, Violette_FR has expanded its product lineup with new launches and collaborations.

With this new funding, founder Violette Serrat looks to open Violette_FR flagship stores in cities such as Paris and New York.
