Demeter's new limited edition fragrance is called First Response: Boston.
Seventy-five percent of sales will be donated to the Boston First Responders Fund,
which has been set up to help the victims of the Boston Marathon Bombing. The Fund will be administered through the Boston Firefighter’s Credit Union, which is the host site for taking online donations.
So what does it smell like?
"A combination of spices and flowers, overlaid with white smoke and rubber," according to the brand.
The scent of smoke and rubber may seem a little odd - and maybe even a little insensitive to anyone who has lived through the terror of being near a bomb that has exploded. But, Demeter says the ingredients were used to honor Boston's firefighters - and remember the risks that all firefighters take, every day.
The cologne spray is being sold on www.DemeterFragrance.com. 1 oz. is $20; and 4 oz. is $39.50.
