The 3rd edition of Cosme Innovation’s International Cosmetics Development Expo & Conference—combined with the 1st Cosme Tokyo International Cosmetics Trade Fair June 27-29, for what organizers called a highly successful event. The show hosted 324 exhibitors (more than double the 141 in 2011), with 16,936 visitors (up over 9,069 in 2011).

Cosme Tokyo was newly launched this year, joining Cosme Innovation, which launched in 2010, making the event Japan’s only trade fair covering the whole cosmetics industry—from ingredients, OEM, containers/packaging to finished products. The show featured the latest trends and products, which gave the visitors both a comprehensive overview on the whole industry and detailed information in each field.

This year, the number of overseas exhibitors increased considerably, as well as a large number of visitors from all around Asia—all seeking Japan’s high‐quality ingredients/containers, popular “made‐in‐Japan cosmetics” and the latest trends appearing in Tokyo.

Organizers say the show became a larger, more comprehensive and more international business platform for the cosmetics industry, as well as a bridge between overseas companies and the world’s second largest cosmetics market, Japan.

The Cosme Tokyo conference featured industry leaders as speakers, and attracted more than 3,000 attendees. In addition to the latest market trends, the topic of how to be successful in the current Japanese & Asian cosmetics market was addressed by successful companies in each field.
