Position Summary:
The Senior Brand Manager is responsible for the global marketing activities and acts as a brand champion for the portfolio of brands within the Color Category at Avon. She/He has a strong track record of results, exhibiting strong leadership capabilities and strong understanding of the marketing environment at Avon. The Sr. Brand Manager has strategic knowledge of the business, identifies growth opportunities for the brands globally, and the ways and means to achieve them.
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Assists in developing the mission, objectives and 3-year strategy for the Global Color business and develops plans to achieve them
• Lead and develop Brand Plans for select portfolio brands
• Manages Key Brand Initiatives: drives the brand by working with cross functional team (Product Development, Package design engineering, Design, Creative, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Finance) progress and tracks the development of all large innovation initiatives and ensure timely launch within cost/margin objectives
• Strategically analyzes the brand's strengths and opportunities vs. category trends/key competitors and identifies growth areas
• Partners with Consumer Insights to identify learning and validation plan against white space
• Leads development of compelling and unique concepts with proficiency leveraging consumer insights, understanding of gaps in market and portfolio
• Develops an effective dialogue with the regional marketing groups to provide timely communication of product development process and ensures that all market needs are met in a cost effective and strategic manner
• Manages the brand, brochure and package creative process developing creative briefs, ensuring global agreement on creative direction and liaising with the brochure creative teams and strategic communication group.
• Manages and develops direct report
Requirements:
• Must have a minimum of 5 years of relevant brand management experience including strategy, brand building, new product development, launch activation as well as creative development and execution
• Experience in the beauty industry with emphasis on Color is a plus.
• Passion for the beauty industry. Strong aesthetics sense.
• Strategic thinker with strong analytical and communication skills, excellent presentation skills.
• Be a team player with strong organizational and interpersonal skills
• Ability to lead with persuasion/influencing for results.
• Project management skills with experience energizing, providing direction and leading a large, experienced cross-functional skincare team through the development and execution of multiple new product launches in a fast pace environment.
• MBA is preferred but not required
