Private equity firm, Yellow Woods Partners (Yellow Wood) announced that its portfolio company Suave Brands has signed a binding offer to acquire the ChapStick brand from Haleon. The acquisition is intended to close in the first half of 2024 once regulatory approvals are finalized.
Starting in the 1880s, ChapStick has grown to become a leader in lip care with over 80% brand awareness.
Suave personal care brand offers hair, body, skin and antiperspirant deodorant products. The brand was recently acquired by Yellow Wood from Unilever.
Suave CEO Daniel Alter said, “We are excited to add ChapStick, another leading brand with deep equity and history, into our platform. According to Yellow Wood Partners, ChapStick will be the firm’s 5th corporate carveout in the past four years.
