Pratt Institute has announced its 1st annual Design Symposium: “Design is the New Currency, a presentation and discussion that will bring together leading speakers from diverse fields to talk about how design has become the x-plus factor. The symposium will take place on November 2 (free of charge) at 5:30pm at The Whitney Museum of American Art in New York, at 99 Gansevoort St..
The panel of speakers features David Rockwell, award winning architect and designer; Juan Montoya, internationally acclaimed interior designer; James Gager, SVP and creative director for MAC Cosmetics; and Michele Oka Doner, internationally renowned artist. Marc Rosen, award-winning luxury and cosmetics packaging designer and Pratt professor of packaging design, will moderate.
The symposium is sponsored by The Marc Rosen Educational Fund at Pratt Institute in conjunction with Juliana Curran Terain, the Terain Foundation.
