The fact that sunscreen is formulated to stay on the skin all day makes it difficult to remove, so the team at Clarisonic set out to show the beauty device's effectiveness at removing all traces of the product from the face.
Dr. Robb Akridge, co-founder of Clarisonic, explained, "Sunscreen is one of the most important things you can do to protect the skin, but removing all of the residue can sometimes be tricky. Cleansing with Clarisonic gives you an easier and more effective option."
Clarisonic commissioned a study that compared the removal of sunscreen using its patented sonic cleansing technology, versus a manual removal method using hands alone. Leading physical and chemical sunscreens, SPF 15 to 30, were used for testing.
The results? Clarisonic sonic cleansing removed 6x more sunscreen than manual cleansing alone. Clarisonic used a split-face study to show the results, side-by-side. Images are shown above.
Clarisonic has also launching its Mia 2 Summer Batik Beauty Bag Collection in turquoise or pink, also shown above. The set comes with a Sensitive Skin Brush Head, as well as a Deep Pore Brush Head for a more invigorating cleanse.
It is available now for $149 at Clarisonic.com and key retailers including Sephora and Ulta.
