Faux Fro has won an award in the "America's Small Business Hero" contest, which was sponsored by Insureon, an online agency for small businesses.
Small businesses from around the United States entered to compete for a grand prize of $5,000 and three finalists were awarded $1,000 each. Contestants competed for votes from social media fans and followers.
Faux Fro, of Atlanta, GA, provides "kinky and curly hair extensions for those who aren't afraid of making BOLD statements with their hair while keeping natural textures in mind."
Jia McClain, Faux Fro's founder, explained how the company will spend the prize money, saying, they will be "purchasing new packaging, adding new products that'll be exclusive to the brand, [having] a professional photo shoot, … and purchasing as much inventory as I can to… cut down on shipping time."
Ted Devine, insureon's CEO, added, "This contest required business owners to engage their supporters and followers," he said. "Faux Fro's supporters were enthusiastic throughout the process, which bodes well for the success of the company in the era of social media. I look forward to seeing great things from Ms. McClain."
