Regulatory issues are at the heart of the cosmetics industry, and the Independent Cosmetic Manufacturers and Distributors (ICMAD) organization is keeping on top of things. Learn how ICMAD is protecting your interests against issues affecting the cosmetics industry.
On October 9, in Los Angeles, ICMAD will host a business meeting, buffet dinner, and cocktail reception to introduce its new Board of Directors. The event will highlight ICMAD’s Advocacy Fund and the role the organization plays in shaping new regulations in Washington DC, as well as current legislation issues in California.
The event will kick off at 5pm, when attendees along with the Board of Directors will attend a cocktail reception, located at Edwards Wildman Palmer in their Avenue of the Stars office. From 6pm to 8pm, guests will enjoy a buffet dinner and networking event.
A donation of $100 is requested to attend the event supporting the growing ICMAD Advocacy Fund, which defends the interests of cosmetic manufacturers and distributors in Washington and California and serves as a strong voice for members and shapes upcoming regulations.
The new Board of Directors includes:
· The Chairman of the Board, Dr. Robb Akridge, co-founder of Pacific Bioscience Laboratories, the makers of the Clarisonic Sonic Skin Cleansing System.
· Susan Goldsberry, president and CEO of Benchmark Cosmetic Laboratories that works with today’s top brands to provide cutting-edge research as well as specialized product development.
· Shawn Tavakoli, founder and CEO of The Beauty Collection—a growing prestige beauty retailer.
· Colleen Pierce, CEO CPIERCE Strategies, who has more than 35 years of sales management experience with prestige beauty and advanced skincare brands.
· Ada Polla, co-creator of Swiss-based skincare line Alchimie Forever.
