Shiseido will sell its Carita and Decléor brands to L’Oréal. WWD reports the deal is valued at 227.5 million euros, or $312.93 million at current exchange rates.
Both skin care brands were founded in France, and are part of the Shiseido Professional Division, although they are sold through both professional and retail channels. Together, Carita and Decléor generated sales of approximately 100 million euros, or $138 million at current exchange, in 2012.
Now, Shiseido plans to focus on developing its Shiseido Professional and Joico brands within its professional division.
