MakeUp in NewYork has a full conference schedule for today, September 14th, as well as tomorrow, September 15th. Here are a few not-to-miss highlights.

Melissa Hago, VP of Beauty & Wellness, Fashion Snoops, will present "What’s Trending: Color Cosmetic and Makeup Trends" today at 1:30 at MakeUp in NewYork. Hago will discuss the thematic trend stories impacting the beauty market. Many connect to current cultural shifts in sustainability, wellness, digitization, inclusivity, and spirituality, Hago says.

Fashion Snoops will present its trend stories and explore key updates within color cosmetics and makeup across innovations, formulas, ingredients, texture, packaging, and more.

Tomorrow, hear a little about beauty's history during the conference at 2:30 titled, "First Ladies, Flappers, and Influencers: How American Women Invented the Beauty Business."

Ilise S. Carter, freelance writer and author of  "The Red Menace: How Lipstick Changed the Face of American History," will discuss some of the most influential wearers of lipstick. The list includes Martha Washington, the original celebrity endorsements of the 1800s, and the flappers of the 1920s.

These women helped create an industry that has both defined and disregarded them—what can beauty professionals today learn from the past? Find out during this conference.
