Update: Luxe Pack New York Was a 'Come Back' Success Story
Luxe Pack New York, the largest B2B event to focus on luxury packaging for cosmetics, skin care, fragrances, and more, will take place at the Javits Center, October 27-28, 2021.
“We are thrilled to reopen our doors in New York City and reunite the industry after almost two years,” says Linda Villalobos, communications manager, Luxe Pack New York. “One thing is for sure—there is no real replacement for the impact and value of in-person collaboration. We cannot wait to see some familiar and new faces on the show floor,” she says.
Visitors will walk through the “Exploratorium,” an interactive display. Industry executives will have the opportunity to meet with exhibitors to source new materials and discover innovative packaging solutions. “Sustainability without sacrificing luxury” will be a major focus at the show this year.
Speaker Highlights
Since sustainable packaging is a major concern for the beauty industry, several expert speakers will address the topic, including Tom Szaky, CEO of TerraCycle, and Anthony Rossi, EVP of business development, Terracycle and LOOP. They will lead an interactive workshop, “Designing for a Better Future,” on October 27, 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm. Participants will brainstorm new ways a luxury brand can design circular sustainable packaging solutions.
On October 28, 11 am - 11:45 am, Szaky will deliver a keynote to explain his vision for driving change. He will share how companies of all sizes can transition to circular packaging solutions.
Inclusivity is another concern, especially for brand marketers. Emilia Romano Williams, U.S. trend reporter, Stylus, will discuss how a brand might use its packaging to tell a story about its inclusive brand values and celebrate cultural heritage—and why this is increasingly important. This conference takes place October 27, 2 pm - 2:30 pm.
Smart packaging, climate-positive beauty, and anti-counterfeiting are just a few of the other topics included in the full conference program. Speakers include Mia Davis, VP of sustainability & impact, Credo; Danielle Azoulay, VP of corporate social responsibility & sustainability, L’Oréal USA; Brad Farrell, chief marketing officer, Beekman 1802; Peter Possenti, image specialist, Harry’s Inc.; Adam Peek, founder and host, People of Packaging Podcast; and Dr. Gayatri Keskar, VP of research, Material Connexion.
Don’t Miss the ‘In Green’ Awards Ceremony
Each year, the In Green Awards showcases award-worthy sustainable innovation. This year’s ceremony will take place on October 27, 5:15 pm - 6 pm.
This year’s judging panel will be present at the ceremony. It includes Beauty Packaging’s editor-in-chief, Jamie Matusow, with Tata Harper, founder, Tata Harper Skincare, Lauren Golik, senior director of packaging design, Forma Brands, and Jess Abrams, executive director of product development, Shiseido.
