The Estée Lauder Companies (ELC) has named André Branch senior vice president, general manager, MAC Cosmetics—North America. He will lead MAC’s omnichannel strategy and “drive meaningful differentiation” to win in direct-to-consumer, accelerating online and direct-selling—and optimizing freestanding store growth, as well as strengthen opportunities in its department store and specialty-multi business.
Branch joined ELC in March 2020 as senior vice president, Strategic Initiatives-North America. Additionally, Branch plays a strategic role in advancing the company’s racial equity commitments in North America. He is also a member the North America Region Inclusion and Diversity Taskforce.
Branch brings more than 20 years of leadership experience across various industries, including Luxury Beauty, Consumer Packaged Goods, Luxury Spirits and Private Equity.
Prior to joining ELC, he served as SVP, E-Commerce and Digital Operations, L’Oréal USA, where he led corporate online and digital strategy with a focus on e-retail, pure players and direct-to-consumer.
Dennis McEniry, president of ELC Online, will retire at the end of this calendar year, following nearly 20 years with the company. He joined as vice president, technology, in 2001, when its e-commerce platform—started in 1996 by William P. Lauder—was still in its early days. In 2003, McEniry was named the inaugural president of ELC Online, which he then led from just four U.S.-based websites to a global, highly diversified presence in more than 50 countries, 350 brand.com sites, 80 brand boutiques on platforms such as Tmall, and 1,700 retailer.com doors. ELC Online represented 22% of the company’s net sales in fiscal 2020.
McEniry is succeeded by Gibu Thomas, who will report directly to Fabrizio Freda, president and CEO. He joins the company from PepsiCo, where he served as senior vice president and global head of e-commerce for the past five years.
