Suppliers are at the vortex, and this month’s Corporate Profiles is an opportunity—and a great resource—to review 72 global companies that specialize in providing wide-ranging solutions for brands.
With consumers more educated than ever—brands are actively working to accommodate their demands on multiple levels. Take Color Cosmetics Packaging (see page 148 in this issue) for instance. At WWP, Megan Gunn, marketing manager, comments, “Multi-tasking products and packaging that simplify beauty routines continues to be a hot trend with today’s very busy lifestyles. In addition, the demand continues to increase as consumers are demanding more sustainable clean formulas as well as eco-alternative packaging options from their brands.”
Can even D2C be on the cusp of change? New stats show consumers’ increasing preference for retail. Check out our story on BeautyPackaging.com from 5WPR about Millennials’ shopping habits—a surprising 68% say they prefer finding new products in store to finding them online. Perhaps that’s why Glossier’s months-old London pop-up is drawing huge crowds—and Internet giant Amazon recently announced a number of new 4-Star brick & mortar locations. It’s crucial to get it right as Millennials are estimated to spend $1.4 trillion this year.
On the downside, the coronavirus threatens to wreak havoc with global beauty production and sales, especially in the lucrative travel retail sphere. We hope there’s a quick and safe resolution for all affected.
