Evereden is a new skincare brand that says it's on a fast track to success—and it just launched in over 100 Sephora stores globally. Evereden's products feature clean formulas, an upscale look, and problem-solving, dermatologist-developed formulas. The company recently secured $32 million in series C funding, and is setting its sights on expansion—aiming to reinvent the “family skincare” category.
The brand has a unique point-of-view, rarely found in the crowded beauty space—one of which is elevating skincare for kids. "Our brand exemplifies the premiumization trend," says Kimberley Ho, co-founder, and chief executive officer.
“We are a skincare brand that is multigenerational, from a luxury standpoint,” Ho explains. “We found a great space. When we started in 2019, nothing was serving this need.”
Led by one of the world's most successful early-stage venture firms, GSR Ventures, Evereden plans to scale expansion into new markets and sales channels in 2022. On March 8, the brand launched in Sephora Canada.
“My mission in launching Evereden is to continue reimagining children and family skincare in a safe and effective way to promote the healthiest futures for all," says Ho. "We've had tremendous success out of the gate, but we are only just beginning."
Evereden has stylish packaging and a unique POV
Forget bright colors or cartoon characters. Moms will appreciate that the packaging looks stylish enough to keep out on the counter. Many of the products are in plastic bottles, molded in soothing colors that look on-trend—and exemplify an Instagram Influencer's aesthetic."Our Kids Line launched last year and already comprises nearly 20 percent of Evereden's total revenue as it caters to an underserved market," says Ho.
Many of the packages are decorated with slik-screened patterns. "We also wanted to make sure our packaging had a soft-touch matte feel, to evoke the gentleness in touch that you would expect in a family product," Ho explains. Regarding sustainability, Evereden uses recyclable PET and HDPE.
The Kids Complete Routine Mini Set is shown above, which includes five products in mini packaging—perfectly sized for little hands. One reviewer writes, "My 9-year-old recently started her nightly skincare routine…"
Evereden also has a Luxe Pregnancy Skincare Bundle, a Baby Hydration Set, and a Newborn Starter Bundle—which speaks to consumers and addresses their needs at various life stages. The beautifully designed packaging makes these sets the perfect gift.
There's also a Scented Bubble Bundle—bubble bath complete with a star-shaped wand, guaranteed to keep toddlers busy in the bathtub.
Evereden's Kids lineup features a 'Happy Face Duo' & more
Evereden doesn't just market a few kids' products—there's an entire range that targets kids ages three to pre-teen. The Kids Happy Face Duo includes two full-size products, Multi-Vitamin Face Wash and Face Cream. The formula is gluten-free and comes in three natural scents—Cool Peach, Fresh Pomelo, and Melon Juice.Evereden is transparent about every ingredient. Here are two highlights from the kids' collections—
- KIDS HAPPY FACE DUO: Shown in the second slider above, the Kids Happy Face Duo features the brand's 'Mega-Vitamin Complex,' each ingredient is listed along with its Environmental Working Group score, most of which are 1 s and 2s.
- ULTIMATE KIDS SHOWER SET: Shown in the second slider above, the Ultimate Kids Shower Set includes Multi-Vitamin Body Wash, a rich, foaming cleanser in a bottle with a foaming pump; and Multi-Vitamin Shampoo and Conditioner, which makes it easy to care for kids' hair in one step. The bottle features an oversized pump, making it easy to use with one hand.
Even the Baby Lip Balm is designed for easy use, in an extra-wide stick package that makes it easy to apply. The creamy formula includes seven botanically-derived oils, including sunflower seed oil, to promote a strong skin barrier.
Evereden's Healing Eczema Treatment
Healing Eczema Treatment, in a slim tube with a pump, is Evereden's latest launch—see it below in the brand's Instagram post. It's a steriod-free naturally-derived formula. The cream is formulated to quickly relieve itchy skin while helping to repair and heal the skin."A tube made sense for this product," says Ho. "The formula is viscous—plus, a tube makes it convenient to carry," she says.
Developed using Evereden's "Barrier Restore Technology," the formula features naturally-derived anti-inflammatory ingredients, such as golden spent barley and quercetin, along with skin-strengthening ceramides and soothing colloidal oatmeal.
Based on a two-week clinical study, it claims to treat active eczema flareups in babies, kids, and adults by clinically reducing skin redness & dryness by over 98%. Thirty-four participants aged 3-36 months assessed the product on facial skin for the study.
Clean Beauty for Kids—And Science-Based Formulas
Evereden is focused on R&D and believes innovation in skincare is rooted in science. The plant-based product formulations feature high-quality ingredients with proven efficacy."We're building our in-house lab," says Ho, discussing plans to strengthen its in-house R&D and formulation capabilities. "Our ability to grow and scale quickly is tied closely to our in-house R&D and product development capabilities," she explains.
Evereden's website features its "Moms in Medicine"
Evereden's advisory panel is called Moms in Medicine. The three-person expert team co-creates its products. The team consists of—- Dr. Joyce Teng, MD, Ph.D., Chief Scientific Officer at Evereden and head of Pediatric Dermatology at Stanford Medical School, leads the team.
- Dr. Sarina Elmariah, MD, Ph.D., Professor of Dermatology at Harvard Medical School, is Evereden's Scientific Officer
- Dr. Rebecca Hartman, MD, MPH, Instructor of Dermatology at Harvard Medical School, is Evereden's Scientific Officer
Evereden Aims To Carve A Path Toward Success
Evereden assembled a team that has both beauty experience and skincare know-how, which will be key to its continued success, Ho says. And no matter how well a new beauty brand strategizes or how effective its products are, a brand's success is often dependent on funding. Evereden seems to have all its ducks in a row."We are from skincare, but also business, so we pay attention to the financials," Ho says. "Lots of brands are focused, but at the end of the day, a company needs to be profitable. And at this stage, Evereden is profitable," she says.
Last year, Evereden grew by 350% in year-over-year growth—and plans to make sure its upward trajectory continues by staying focused on product innovation.
