Advertising Sales Executive
The successful candidate is self-starter ready to hit the ground running, selling to an existing account base of clients and prospective new business. Experience with the selling process, CRM systems and data backed pitches is important. Position will have responsibility for growing print and digital advertising revenues and end-to-end responsibility for all phases of the advertising sales process, including direct-to-client and ad agency contacts.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate is self-starter ready to hit the ground running, selling to an existing account base of clients and prospective new business. Experience with the selling process, CRM systems and data backed pitches is important. Position will have responsibility for growing print and digital advertising revenues and end-to-end responsibility for all phases of the advertising sales process, including direct-to-client and ad agency contacts.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Grow advertising revenue targets by selling print and digital advertising formats (including email lists and social media) to new and existing clients.
- Manages and sells to existing accounts, as well as continues to build new relationships.
- Develop and implement advertising strategy, ad budgets, and explain and react to variances.
- Provide timely, high quality responses to RFPs.
- Create high-quality sales proposals and collateral materials as needed in response to advertiser demand.
- Initiate calls and meetings with existing advertisers, prospects & agencies to provide expert knowledge of print and digital offerings and deliver innovative solutions.
- Work with clients and production team to deliver campaigns that optimize results. Emphasis on revenue maximization and client retention through effective inventory and campaign management.
- Performs extensive research on industry identifying new prospects and lists of existing accounts for follow-up process; works with management to foster sales growth opportunities.
- Develop, utilize and monitor sales pipeline and report regularly to supervisor.
- Produce a high level of call and email activity daily. Manage and log activity in CRM system.
- Work collaboratively with sales colleagues, supporting staff, and vendors.
- Minimum 1-3 years of sales experience.
- Bachelors degree in marketing, business communications, sales or related area.
- Must be able to understand the issues relevant to the print and digital media selling market. Preference given to previous experience in the cosmetic/personal care industry. The ability to listen to and understand the customer and advertisers’ expectations, needs and wants is crucial.
- Strong communication and presentation skills (both written and verbal). Must be an effective communicator with all levels of management, and with colleagues and clients.
- Must have demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships through strong interpersonal skills. Confident personality, good at networking, with a collaborative approach.
- A go-getter attitude. Can work both independently and in a team environment, who is friendly, outgoing, and able to work in a metrics driven environment.
- Must be proficient with experience in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). CRM Tool/SalesForce.com experience is a PLUS.
- Travel is required both air and ground – up to 30%.
- Position is with Happi brand at Rodman Media https://rodmanmedia.com and works out Montvale NJ offices.
- Proven success in selling within the print and digital advertising space, with established knowledge of and relationships with cosmetic and personal care industry decision makers.
