Less than a year after a high-profile launch, online sales have ceased for Jared Leto’s skin and hair care line Twentynine Palms.
It seems the rock star and actor has pulled the plug on the lifestyle brand, which was favorably reviewed by Esquire, GQ and more.
According to reports at the time of launch, the Twentynine Palms co-founders even planned to expand beyond skin and hair care into other categories like fragrance, home goods and design. However, things did not go as planned.
Per Leto’s rep, Leto severed ties with the brand “many months” ago over claims including breach of contract. Also, Keren’s LinkedIn profile states that he exited his role as co-founder and CEO of Twentynine Palms a while ago—two months after launch.
“Jared Leto is proud of the creative team at Twentynine Palms and what they accomplished. However, many months ago, Leto terminated his relationship with the parent company Maapilim Ltd due to, what he believes was a breach of contract and mismanagement by the brand operator,” Leto’s rep, Robin Baum, told The Hollywood Reporter.
Other A-list male stars that have expanded into the beauty space include Brad Pitt (Le Domaine), Harry Styles (Pleasing), Pharrell Williams (Humanrace) and John Legend (Loved01).

Launched in October 2022, Twentynine Palms was born of a chance encounter between Jared Leto and Jonathan Keren, who founded the Mediterranean wellness brand Maapilim in 2016.
