GetHarley, a London-based telehealth platform connecting consumers with skincare professionals and related products, has successfully raised $52 million in a funding round led by Index Ventures, an existing investor of the company.
The platform offers online consultations at a cost of £40 ($50) for a 30-minute session or patients can opt for a more senior-level consultant dermatologist at a fee of £150 ($186).
Apart from its consultation services, GetHarley's business model involves the sale of personalized skincare products tailored to individual needs, considering factors such as skin type (dry or oily) and complexion. The range of products includes cleansers, serums, moisturizers and eye creams.
GetHarley differentiates itself by curating established skincare products and leveraging qualified clinicians to recommend specific plans.
Charmaine Chow explained, "The skincare industry is overflowing with false claims, celebrity marketing, and thousands upon thousands of choices about how to care for your skin. You end up wasting huge amounts of time, money, and energy trying to figure out what works for you."
She further highlighted the difficulty consumers face in accessing clinicians due to time constraints. GetHarley seeks to address these challenges by providing a comprehensive platform for experts and facilitating global consumer access to reliable advice in an overcrowded marketplace.
Prior to this funding round, GetHarley had secured approximately $15 million in earlier investments. In the four years since its inception, the company has attracted around 100,000 active users and grown its team to 70 employees. GetHarley anticipates doubling its workforce over the next year.
