Barneys New York, which filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in August 2019, is aiming to make a comeback by expanding into the beauty and wellness space.
On September 15, parent company Authentic Brands Group (ABG) and Gloent Group, a Korean-based lifestyle company that specializes in the beauty, wellness and premium beverages categories, signed a long-term partnership to develop, manufacture and distribute Barneys New York beauty products worldwide.
The Barneys New York Beauty line will offer a variety of products in the categories of skincare, fragrance, haircare and cosmetics, among other items.
A main ingredient in the skincare line is Glocela, which is formulated with eight ingredients including cloudberry to improve skin tone, texture and moisture retention.
The line includes a serum, hybrid cleanser, water essence, rich cream and light gel cream. Additionally, the line will feature five, two-step double action hydrogel masks that address different skin concerns such as redness, dehydration and irritation. Each product offers multi-action hybrid solutions with a variety of benefits to achieve healthy and radiant-looking skin.

The collection will be available in October online, and will be introduced at additional retailers, including Saks’ website, in the fourth quarter of this year.
