The Makeup Show Houston has just announced that their March show will be postponed to August 1-2, 2020, due to Coronavirus (COVID-19). The show will take place 9 am – 5 pm at Hilton Houston Post Oak.
Shelly Taggar, owner of The Makeup Show, listened to concerns about Coronavirus before making the decision.
A statement reads:
-
For sixteen years, the show has worked to become a resource and to be a support system for the makeup community. Their longtime tagline, "A Beauty Experience," means that they work to provide education and inspiration, and also provide an environment of access and interaction. The show is a place and event where artists from all over can come to learn and be comfortable in their community.
Due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19), the show is concerned that their attending artists will not receive The Makeup Show, A Beauty Experience, that they are known for.
Taggar says she has decided to prioritize the health and well-being of the community, keeping the show's attendees and brands feeling safe, secure, and comfortable.
"My team and I have been working to monitor the current Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation. While so much about the virus is unknown, we are confident in our ability to take every precaution. We are working closely with the CDC, our unions, city organizations, and host venues, to ensure that we are going above and beyond to keep our patrons and their families safe. In the end, our responsibility is you."
The Makeup Show is the largest pro-only beauty event in the United States. Its focus is to create a place where artists from all areas of the industry and all career levels can find mentors, meet industry leaders, refill their kit, and learn about new products and programs.
The next event will be The Makeup Show New York, May 3-4, 2020.
