Gillette has launched a first-of-Its-kind heated razor. The high-tech razor is by GilletteLabs-- and is the premium division's first innovation.
The razor's handle is premium-grade aluminum zinc, and it has five blades, which Gillette says are its "thinnest and finest." It features an innovative warming bar that heats up within a second -- to deliver a sustained heat sensation that provides "the pleasure of a hot towel shave with every stroke," the brand states.
The Heated Razor can be charged via its wireless magnetic charging dock. It is waterproof, and has a button to switch between two temperature levels, with four intelligent heat sensors that consistently maintain even warmth at the chosen temperature. Plus, built-in safety features ensure an even, safe level of heat.
Gary Coombe, CEO - P&G Global Grooming, comments, "By fusing beautiful form with reimagined function, the Heated Razor truly elevates the shaving experience. We know men love the sensation of a hot towel shave, and now they can enjoy that same luxurious experience every day in their bathroom."
The razor was originally available, from Gillette, last fall in limited quantities on Indiegogo. It sold out in less than a week. Next, Gillette showcased it at the Consumer Electronics Show 2019, where it won 'Engadget's People's Choice Award.'
Coombe adds, "We've been delighted with the reception from the tech and grooming community. We had incredible feedback from early adopters on Indiegogo and everyone who got to see the product in action at CES. That's why we're so excited to now make this breakthrough innovation available to all our consumers in the U.S."
It is available for pre-order on Gillette on Demand, and at Art of Shaving stores. It retails for $200, with additional blades priced at $25.
