Kiehl's Since 1851 begins its sixth annual Kiehl's LifeRide for amfAR, The Foundation for AIDS Research - and launches a new coffee table photo book that commemorates the event's first 5 years.
The charity motorcycle ride begins in Denver on August 4th and ends in San Diego on August 15th. The 12-day event's mission is to raise awareness. The riders will stop along the route at 10 retail stores for a rally. At each stop, the public is invited to meet the riders, learn more about amfAR and contribute to the non-profit. Kiehl's will donate a total of $150,000 over the course of the ride. Here's a full ride schedule of events.
Chris Salgardo, president, Kiehl's USA and Kevin Robert Frost, CEO, amfAR will lead this year's riders, who include actors Vanessa Marcil, Gilles Marini, Teddy Sears, Tricia Helfer, Kristy Swanson, Jay Ellis, and Jaime Camil.
Sharon Stone, amfAR's Global Campaign Chair, will make a special appearance, in support. Stone will accept the check for the full donation to amfAR at LifeRide's stop in Santa Monica, California on Wednesday August 12th.
The Book
Kieh's new coffee table photo book, LIFERIDE: Riding for a Cure, chronicles the first five years of LifeRide. It features photos by Grammy award-winning photographer Travis Shinn. The book retails for $60, and launched August 1st in all Kiehl's retail stores. One-hundred percent of Kiehl's net profits of the book, up to $10,000, will benefit amfAR.

Customers nationwide can also donate to amfAR by visiting Crowdrise/LifeRide. Nearly 14k has been raised already.
Since 2010, at the end of this year's ride, Kiehl's will have raised $1,270,000 for amfAR, which will fund seven cure-related research projects. The ride's main sponsor partners are Harley-Davidson, Delta and FIJI Water. Additional support will be provided by Exotics Racing, Kenneth Cole, Psycho Bunny, Microsoft, and Tom Ford.
