The Independent Cosmetic Manufacturers and Distributors (ICMAD) has selected its panel of judges for the 11th annual Cosmetic Innovators of the Year (CITY) Awards. The five beauty insiders come from all aspects of the industry, ranging from editors and creative directors to entrepreneurs and executives.
The judges are:
Rebecca Bartlett, Principal & Creative Director, Bartlett Brands
Brooke Carlson, Fashion Institute of Technology, School of Graduate Studies, Cosmetics and Fragrance Master's program
Maria Corbiscello, President, Studio MC2
Claudia Lucas, Executive Vice President of Business Development, Behrman Communications
Paula Scandone, Vice President and E-Commerce Merchandise Manager of Beauty, HauteLook
“Each judge brings extensive experience and knowledge in the personal care categories,” says ICMAD CEO Pam Busiek. “This is a fantastic panel to evaluate product, packaging, advertising and marketing campaign entries to find the best innovators and breakthroughs of the year. ICMAD is dedicated to fostering the growth and success of independent beauty companies, and the CITY Awards are a can’t-miss opportunity for up-and-coming brands to garner recognition and gain visibility.”
According to Busiek, a CITY Award is the highest honor in the independent beauty industry, a gold-standard award for breakthrough indie beauty products. Representing the best in cutting-edge products, beautiful design and brilliant marketing, a CITY Award launches finalists and winners to wider acclaim. The panel of judges will review all entries and select the finalists, which will be announced mid-June. Finalists receive consumer- and trade-press coverage, social media exposure and the opportunity to connect with influencers and retailers at the CITY Awards Dinner.
All combined, ICMAD expects to spotlight 42 cosmetic innovators as finalists in a special CITY display connected to the ICMAD booth at Cosmoprof North America. From that pool, 14 winners will be announced during the CITY Awards Dinner on July 13 at Mandalay Bay during Cosmoprof North America.
