Flexible packaging converter and printer Glenroy Inc. was recently presented with six awards for expertise in flexographic printing at the Great Lakes Graphics Association (GLGA)'s 2014 Graphics Excellence Awards. Glenroy has the capability of producing vibrant 10-color flexographic printing on a variety of substrates.
Competing with more than 1,000 entries, Glenroy won "Best of Category" awards for Mederma Scar Gel in the category of Flexo - Wide Web, Process and for Snuggle Exhilarations in the category of Flexo - Wide Web, Screen. Glenroy was also awarded two "Awards of Excellence" in the category of Flexo - Wide Web, Screen for Hask Healing Masque and Kirkland Laundry Detergent, as well as two "Awards of Excellence" in the category of Flexo - Wide Web, Process for Senscience Silk Moisture and Satinique Glossy Repair Shampoo & Conditioner.
Each entry in the competition was judged on its own merit in a category with similar printed pieces. The judging criteria included registration, crossovers, clarity and neatness, sharpness of halftones and line drawings, richness and tonal qualities of color, paper and ink selection, ink coverage, difficulty of printing, effective contrast or softness, finishing, bindery and overall visual impact.
