Geoffrey Randolph Webster, former worldwide president of Givaudan-Roure Fragrances, passed away at his home in Grasse, France. He was 68 years old.
WWD reports that Webster was diagnosed with stage-four cancer of the brain, bones and lungs last November.
Webster retired from Givaudan in 2000, and was inducted into the Fragrance Foundation’s Hall of Fame. He became Givaudan's worldwide president after serving as president, North America for Givaudan-Roure when the company merged in 1991.
Webster first joined Roure in 1972, and was the company's vice president, Europe; and then became chairman, chief executive officer and president in 1987.
Webster is survived by his wife and three children; mother and stepfather; two sisters; half brother Alivin F. Lindsay, and two stepsisters.
