Jean-Marie Martin Hattemberg, lipstick expert and collector, and curator Anne Camilli, have a new book, Lips of Luxury - and it includes a lesson in the history of lipstick packaging.
An exhibition at the MakeUp in New York show will feature some of the pieces from Hattemberg's collection, some of which date back to the late 19th century.
Visitors to the show will be able to see some of the most iconic designs in the history of lipstick, which are still inspiring packaging today.
The exhibit includes: Helena Rubinstein's Cracker Jack, from the 1950s; Revlon Couturine Doll Lipsticks, from 1962; and the Cartier New York lipstick created for Charles of the Ritz in the 1950s.
