Lip Smacker, the cosmetic brand for the preteen and teen market, will launch a brand new look for its teen-focused website this month. Key to the re-launch is the incorporation of a new lifestyle site www.lipsmackerlounge.com. The new site is designed as a teen destination incorporating celebrity news, music downloads, movie buzz, book sections, quizzes, polls, avatars and more.
The new interactive site features colorful avatars that visitors use as their profile image. Once signed in as a member, teens can then navigate through multiple layers of Lip Smacker news, the latest and hottest celebrity gossip, books, movies and music downloads. All these teen-focused elements make the Lip Smacker Lounge a virtual hot spot and safe interactive destination. Visitors can also express themselves with posts, chat with other members, take polls and quizzes; play games and enter contests to win amazing prizes.
"This is a very exciting time for the company," said Buddy Bell, chairman and CEO of The Bonne Bell Company, which owns the Lip Smacker brand. "The refreshed website engages young girls through high-quality, multimedia features including 'Gamer Lounge' where users can play games and send e-cards. 'Collector's Corner' allows them to see all the great lip glosses available and read about their history. Girls can also read and share information about their favorite videos, music and books. The first Lip Smacker site launched in 1996 and gets over one million hits a month. We're confident this new site will attract even more girls than ever."
"We wanted to create a safe online community for girls of all ages where they could exchange ideas, share pictures and videos and just hang out," explained Leslie Gibbs, director of Media and New Business Development for The Bonne Bell Company. She hired Hollywood web design firm 6 String Media to design the site. "They really had a feel for what we were trying to accomplish with the site and a great understanding of the teen audience." She continues, "We are really happy with the end product. The initial response has been tremendous."
