Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna 2013 attracted a record-breaking 14% increase in visitors, organizers say. There were 193,842 visitors this year, which included a 22% increase in the number of visitors from abroad - 48,823.
The total number of exhibitors was 2,390, including new suppliers and manufacturers from Japan, India, Indonesia, Pakistan and Colombia. Leading exhibiting countries were Italy, with 666 companies represented; followed by China with 272; and France with 161.
The press was well-represented - there were 745 journalists, including 174 from abroad.
Social media also played a huge role this year in communicating news about the show. Visitors to Cosmoprof uploaded 6,000 photos onto Instagram in just three days. The show's Facebook page attracted 44,731 followers; and 981 users received news from Twitter. There was also over 1,000 viewings of videos that were uploaded to You Tube from the show.
“We have risen to the challenge that we set ourselves,” says Duccio Campagnoli, president of BolognaFiere and SoGeCos, the company that organizes Cosmoprof. “The new Cosmoprof is increasingly international and professional, with the participation of buyers and delegations from abroad to whom we have offered the highest levels of quality and specialization. Cosmoprof has brought together the community of professionals, artists and creative people from the beauty world."
