Avon Products has appointed David Powell as its new senior vice president of business transformation and global supply chain, effective February 4, 2013. Powell will report to Sheri McCoy, Avon's CEO, and will join the company's Executive Committee.

Powell will lead Avon's Global Supply Chain organization, including sourcing, manufacturing, logistics and delivery. In addition, he will be responsible for the company's business transformation efforts, including Process Excellence and the Global Project Management Office for cost savings, as well as the company's Service Model Transformation project, which aims to simplify how Avon Representatives do business with the company.

"Taking complexity out of the organization while maintaining high product quality and improving service quality for our Representatives is essential to Avon's successful turnaround and future growth," said McCoy.

McCoy adds, "David has a strong track record of leading business transformation and generating growth for large global companies. He is the right fit for this critical job and a great addition to the Avon management team."

Powell was the Managing Partner for Midreef Partners, LLC where he has worked since July 2012. Prior, he spent more than 10 years with Johnson & Johnson. Most recently, Powell was president of J&J's Medical Devices Unit in Japan.
