Avon has announced plans to close its distribution facilities in Atlanta, GA, and Pasadena, CA. This is part of the initial steps of Avon's cost-saving initiative, which was announced in December. These closures will help ensure that Avon can better focus on its Representatives, to help them grow their businesses and meet the needs of consumers.
Orders processed from the Atlanta branch will begin to transition to Avon's Zanesville OH facility over the coming months. That process is expected to be completed this summer. Orders at the Pasadena facility are expected to transition in 2014.
Avon says that the decision to close these facilities was difficult, as they have served Avon and its reps for decades, but is an essential step toward turning the business around by driving top-line growth and managing costs. According to the company, these steps that are being taken in the U.S., as well as actions being taken globally,
will help stabilize Avon and begin the process of returning to sustainable growth.
