The 40th edition of Emballage closed on November 22, in Paris, France. The four-day trade show was attended by over 85,000 professionals. Thirty-six percent of visitors were international, and there were 1,300 exhibitors this year.
"There was considerable feedback from satisfied attendees, demonstrating that visitors had projects for the most part and that the business climate in the two exhibitions did not reflect the current 'cold feet' attitude," said Véronique Sestrieres, director of Emballage. She continued, "Once again, this proves that the industry is a source of proposals and is able to respond to the diverse business challenges. The 2012 exhibition was energising, confirming Paris as a key marketplace for the global community.”
Suppliers were happy as well. “We have been coming to Emballage since 1994. The quality of the contacts has improved considerably. Each contact is transformed into a ‘useful’ sales lead,” said Rudolph Pfeiffer, packaging systems manager, Promens (France).
Florian Guiard, sales engineer, Innovia Films (UK), agrees that the show was a success. "You can see that attendance has risen sharply in terms of international sales leads this year,” he said.
The next Emballage trade show will take place November 17-20th, 2014.
