Diamond Packaging Wins 7 in Competition

Diamond Packaging won seven awards in the 69th Annual National Paperboard Packaging Competition. Awards were announced last month at the PPC Fall Meeting & Leadership Conference in Las Vegas, NV. The competition is sponsored by the Paperboard Packaging Council and judged by a jury of industry experts.

Competing against entries from around the country, Diamond received recognition by winning three Gold Awards and four Excellence Awards. The total represents the highest number of awards Diamond has ever won in this competition.

Diamond received a gold award for Elizabeth Arden’s White Diamonds Gift Set. For this carton, Diamond utilized its QuikSet hybrid design, which is a structure that consists of a lid and reinforced base, replicating the feel and finished edges of a rigid set-up box. The carton features a brilliant mirror-like finish, striking graphics, metalized polyester board and intricate embossed accents. It was offset printed with transparent gold, dense black, and opaque white inks, in-line with UV high gloss coating.
Diamond Contract Manufacturing also provided fulfillment services, including adding pad stiffeners to the base and lid, fully assembling vacuum form trays, and poly bagging the units.

Diamond also won gold awards for Procter & Gamble’s new Secret Clinical Strength series cartons, as well as its three-month corporate calendar. The supplier also took home an excellence award for Australian Gold’s JWOWW by Jenni Farley Gift Set, and for Elizabeth Arden’s Cosmic Radiance Britney Spears packaging.

In the Eco Excellence category, Diamond won for its new "Green Chic" package, which incorporates multiple technologies, all applied inline: TruCOLOR expanded color gamut (ECG) printing, specialty coatings; effects and decorations. Plus, all components are manufactured using 100% renewable wind energy.
