MeadWestvaco Corp announced the startup of its expanded production capacity for the Melodie fragrance pump in the company’s Barcelona, Spain facility. Along with this increased capacity, the company confirms that the State Intellectual Property Office of the People’s Republic of China has approved the company’s patent application for a fragrance dispensing system using fluoropolymer dip tubes – such as MWV’s NoC dip tube – and that related patents have also been granted in Mexico and Russia.

The pairing of MWV’s virtually invisible NoC dip tube and Melodie pump allows the fragrance to stand out as a superior, prestige product. According to the company, MWV’s NoC dip tube is the world's first invisible dip tube for luxury fragrances. Introduced in 2006, the NoC dip tube is manufactured globally to support prestige fragrance brands around the world. The dip tube uses light-refractive technology so that the tube virtually disappears when it comes in contact with the fragrance or perfume.
