Fragrance development company Tru Fragrance is behind several new Valentine’s Day fragrances for both men and women. For men, Affliction Cologne features top notes of lemon, persimmon and pear; midnotes of cade wood, jasmine and juniper; and base notes of sweet almond, mahogany, tonka bean, patchouli and musk. It is packaged in a 4 oz. whiskey-stained bottle framed with distressed leather and African rust metal details. It comes encased in a black metal collector’s tin. Affliction sells for $59.95. For women, retailer Vanity include introduces both Intrigue and Captivate, which combines notes of freesia, pink musk, star jasmine, night blooming tuberose and vanilla. Priced at $24.80 for a 1.7 oz. bottle, this scent comes packaged in a purple box designed to look like it is wrapped in a pink ribbon. Intrigue features fruity floral with notes of crisp apple, white peach, water lily, peony and amber crystals and is at $24.80 for a 50 ml/1.7 fl. oz. bottle. Intrigue’s aqua carton is decorated with flowers that inspired the scent.
