Avon Products Inc., which once rejected an offer from Coty, and recently reported a fake $8 billion buyout, is also said to be exploring a sale of its North American operations as it evaluates ways to turn around the struggling unit. Pundits say the makeup company isn’t running a formal sales process, though it is trawling for offers. Avon’s shares jumped by double digits after the Wall Street Journal reported the potential NA sale. The direct seller has posted three straight years of losses and declining sales.
